ABOUT THE CORRIOL CAMANEGRE
Corriol Camanegre (which is the name we give to the Kentish Plover in Valencia) is more than just a bird, it symbolizes the loss of natural spaces along the entire Valencian coast. Even today it can still be seen scurrying along the beach of Oliva but who knows how much time it has left to continue coexisting with us. The big problem of this bird is that it nests in the dunes, those mounds of sand that are formed in the beaches that have been razed by bricks and asphalt.
